Biography
Dr Akmal Zaini binti Arsad holds a PhD in Physics from Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia. Driven by a passion for developing sustainable solutions, she specializes in thin-film nanomaterials and solar cell materials for renewable energy applications. She has strong expertise in fabricating nanomaterials utilizing physical and chemical methodologies, including radio frequency magnetron sputtering, spin coating, and chemical bath deposition. She also developed her skills in solid-state transfer switching and hydrogen research. After completing her doctoral studies, she advanced her research as a post-doctoral researcher at UKM and UNITEN. Presently, she continues her research at Âé¶¹Íø, focussing on sustainable energy advancements.

- Successfully completed role as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the project 'Design and Proof of Concept Demonstration of Solid-State Transfer Switch and Its Robust Controller for Fastest Power Transfer in an 11kV Distributed System' (Project Code: U-TD-RD-19-20), funded by TNB for URND, UNITEN, under the project leader of Distinguished Prof. Dr M.A. Hannan. A Utility Innovation was successfully accepted with the title: "Particle Swarm Optimized Controller for Solid-State Transfer Switch Towards Power Quality Mitigation and application no. UI2024001636
- Successfully completed role as a Post-doctoral Research Fellow in the project titled 'Development of Thin Film Solar Cell Technology and Solar Charge Controller Module' (Project Code: U-TE-RD-18-01), funded by TNB for URND, UNITEN under the project leader of Ts. Dr. Ahmad Wafi bin Mahmood Zuhdi. A patent was successfully produced with the title 'An Apparatus and a Method for Incorporating a Material into a Substrate via Transient Convection Effect' and application No: PI2023005088
