Emotional Intelligence at Work

Overview

This online course is for learners interested in developing emotional intelligence (EI) competencies to enhance their effectiveness, relationships, and wellbeing in workplace contexts. The course guides learners through a structured process of building self-awareness, understanding and managing emotions, navigating interpersonal dynamics, and applying emotional intelligence in real workplace situations. Learners develop their emotional intelligence progressively through hands-on practice with realistic workplace scenarios, self-reflection, and experimentation with evidence-based techniques. A core focus is moving from theoretical understanding to practical capability, developing emotional intelligence as a skillset. By engaging with EI as both a personal development journey and a professional competency, learners build the self-awareness, social awareness, and relationship management skills needed to navigate workplace challenges with greater confidence, empathy, and effectiveness.

On completing the course, students will be able to:

  • Demonstrate self-awareness by identifying their own emotional patterns, triggers, strengths, and areas for development in workplace context
  • Apply relevant knowledge on cognitive and behavioral skills required for emotional regulation and interpersonal effectiveness 
  • Show empathy and social awareness by accurately reading others' emotions, perspectives, and needs in workplace
