Overview
This course introduces undergraduate learners to the concept of digital wellness and equips them with foundational knowledge and applied decision-making skills to manage their use of digital technology responsibly. In an era where digital technologies shape
learning, communication, and daily life, the ability to maintain healthy digital habits is essential for students’ academic effectiveness and overall wellbeing. Learners examine digital habits related to attention, time management, digital relationships, information consumption, and personal wellbeing, and apply evidence-based digital wellness principles in everyday academic and personal contexts. Emphasis is placed on developing awareness, ethical digital behaviour, and practical strategies that support wellbeing, responsible technology use, and effective learning in digitally mediated environments.
On completing the course, students will be able to:
- Explain key concepts and evidence underpinning digital wellness
- Apply basic digital wellness principles to common academic and personal scenarios
- Formula appropriate responses to solve common digital behaviour challenges
